50th Anniversary

"So many happy memories shared, through every golden year..."

  • Epsilon Gamma turned 50!

Saturday, November 8th, 2008, the Epsilon Gamma Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma hit a monumental milestone as sisters celebrated its 50th anniversary at UNC-Chapel Hill.

To commemorate the occasion, sisters worked along side the UNC General Alumni Association and organized a weekend full of events that coincided with UNC's Homecoming festivities.  Over 100 alumnae traveled for all over the country to celebrate Epsilon Gamma's 50th with the active members.

Friday evening, the active sisters kicked off the weekend with a welcome reception to embrace the alumnae back into the Kappa house, the only sorority house on campus still in its original location.  At the reunion, members enjoyed refreshments and catching up with old pledge classes while listening to an acapella performance by the Tar Heel Voices.

On Saturday, the sisters attended a cookout and tailgate together before heading to UNC's Homecoming football game against Georgia Tech., in which the Tar Heels were victorious.  Everyone loved taking a walk down memory lane and revisiting our beautiful historic home.

On Sunday, the final day celebrating the birthday of Epsilon Gamma, sisters gathered one lsat time to indugle in a delightful brunch at the Carolina Club.

All together, the weekend was a great success.  Epsilon Gammas, new and old, were proud to congregate and celebrate their fraternity's presence on the University's campus for 50 years.  They are already looking forward to planning the chapter's 75th anniversary.

We hope you return to Chapel Hill during each fall during Homecoming Weekend for our alumae celebrations to relive your Carolina days as a Kappa!  Homecoming 2010 is from October 29-30.  Invitations will be sent to all Epsilon Gamma alumnae, and events will include an open house and tailgate.
